I. Activities Accomplished for Academic Year

1. Holding of scientific seminars on the following themes:
- Generic singular beams in an optical fiber and free space, its applications (Guest lecturer - A.V. Volyar);
- Generic singular beams in elliptic fibers (Guest lecturer - C.N. Alexeyev);
- Fiber-optical interferometric sensors of physical values with a singular reference beam (Guest lecturer - A.N. Alexeyev);
- Fiber vortex interferometer: computer processing of experimental data (Guest lecturer - T.A. Fadeyeva);
- Nonparaxial beams conversion: optical Magnus effect in a free space (Guest lecturer - V.G. Shvedov,);
- Spin continuity and birefringence in locally isotropic weakly inhomogeneous media (Guest lecturer - Yu.A. Fridman,);
- Envelope equations of guided vortex pulse in optical fibers (Guest lecturer - I.V. Dzedolik,);
- Nonparaxial singular beams of higher orders

" Linear polarized nonparaxial singular beams (Guest lecturer - Veronika S. Latysheva);
" Formation of vortex soliton from pulse in optical fiber (Guest lecturer - Oleg V. Polyakov );
" Light Processing of Singular Beams by Optical Wedge (Guest lecturer - Ya. Izdebskaya).
6. Promotions of optics academic programs within the college/university.
7. Formation of the base with literature (books, proceedings, course notes)
available in National Taurida V. Vernadsky University.
8. Organization of SPIE Chapter office with computer, Internet and printing facilities.
9. Realization of demonstration experiments directed on search of the new
members SPIE.
10. Organization of the Student Conference at National Taurida V. Vernadsky
University (April 2002).
11. Attendance at SPIE meetings:
-Election of officers (Number of the students - 20);
- Acceptance of the Chapter Constitution and statement of the Bylaws of
SPIE Student Chapter of National Taurida V. Vernadsky University

- Summarizing on the executed work (Number of the students - 15).
12. a) SPIE grants for travel on a conference " LASER and FIBER-OPTICAL NETWORKS MODELLING " on June 3-5, 2002 in Kharkov.
b) SPIE grants for travel the president SPIE STUDENT CHAPTERS of National Taurida V. Vernadsky University on July 5-12, 2002 in Seattle, state of Washington.
